SEN Teacher - Caerphilly

Salary: £28,288 - £244,304 per year based on 40 hours per week
Contract:
Full time, permanent position.

Start date: As soon as possible or September 2026

School Staffing Solutions are working with a secondary SEN school in Caerphilly who require a Teacher to mentor and support their pupils.

The school provides high quality learning experiences within a small, focused nurturing environment to secondary school aged children who have an IDP/ALN Statement and have ADHD and/or express behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in a community setting. The staff to student ratio is usually 2:4 in all classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories
  • Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviouStrong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings
  • Previous Experience Teaching Maths and/or Science
  • QTS/QTLS qualification
  • Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
